We know the dad is missing, but a little backstory about him and his life wouldn’t have hurt anyone. Now I guess it’s part of keeping us out of the loop and keep the juices of curiosity going as the series progresses. On the other hand, the movie gave us a lot of information about his dad and the book gave us nothing. The one thing I didn’t like much was the fact that we got a lot of information about his mom, which was cool as we don’t get much about her from the movie, yet in the book, we know exactly in what state she is. The one thing that went back and forth in my mind while reading is hot believable is Artemis and how much of all this could he possibly really do, considering his age and all? I’d say pretty believable because he has all the resources at his disposal, he was pretty much born and raised into a criminal family to pick up on the tricks and techniques and he does seem like a genius that’s equipped with good help, and is pretty despicable. There were so many actions scenes to feel the adrenaline pumping and the adventure element was brought to life accordingly. Artemis thinks he’s got them just where he wants them, but then they stop playing by the rules… Thoughts: These fairies are armed and they’re dangerous. These aren’t the fairies of bedtime stories.
